How to move and delete Apple TV apps from your Android phone
With True Remote for Apple TV, move to the app with the arrows and press and hold OK until its icon jiggles, just like holding the click pad on the Siri Remote. Then move it with the arrows, or press play/pause and choose Delete. Press and hold is in the free version.
Updated 16 October 2026. For True Remote 1.1.0 on Android 10 or later, with Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD.
Before you start
You need True Remote connected to your Apple TV. If you haven’t done that yet, follow the connection guide. It takes a few minutes and you only do it once.
Move an app
- On the Apple TV home screen, use the arrows to highlight the app you want to move.
- Press and hold OK until the app icon starts to jiggle. On some versions of tvOS a menu appears instead. Choose Edit Home Screen.
- Use the arrows to move the icon where you want it, then press OK to put it down.
- Press Back when you’re done.
True Remote sends the hold for as long as your finger is on OK, and the release when you lift it.
Delete an app
- Highlight the app and press and hold OK until its icon jiggles.
- Press play/pause, then choose Delete.
- Confirm on the TV with OK.
- Press Back when you’re done.
