True Remote for Apple TV

Privacy policy

SNOR LTD provides True Remote for Apple TV (Android package com.snorltd.trueremote). This policy describes the app, its purchases and advertising, and its bug-report service. Updated: 24 September 2026.

Local TV control and storage

The app discovers and controls an Apple TV on your local network. Pairing and remote commands, including text you choose to send, pass between your phone and the TV. You do not need a SNOR LTD account or an Apple Account password to pair.

The phone stores paired-TV details, preferences and artwork caches. Pairing credentials are encrypted using Android Keystore-backed keys and excluded from Android backup. Forgetting a TV removes its pairing from the phone. You can separately remove the phone from the Apple TV in its remote-device settings.

Microphone and dictation

Microphone permission is used when you choose dictation. The phone's speech-recognition service processes your audio and may send it to its provider for online recognition. True Remote does not save audio recordings or upload audio to SNOR LTD or our bug-report service. Recognized text is sent to the active TV text field when you use dictation. The speech provider's own terms, privacy policy and settings govern its processing and retention; recognition is not guaranteed to stay on the phone. Do not dictate passwords or other sensitive information. You can deny microphone permission and continue using the other remote controls.

App artwork

Artwork for apps on the connected Apple TV is supplied by that Apple TV over the local connection and cached on the phone. True Remote does not send the TV's app identifiers or your phone's country setting to an internet artwork lookup service. If usable artwork is unavailable, the app displays the app name instead.

Premium purchases

Premium (a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase) is sold through Google Play. Google processes your payment. SNOR LTD receives the purchase details Google Play provides to confirm it, such as the product, purchase time, order number and status, but not your payment card details. The app checks your purchases with Google Play on the phone and remembers on the phone whether Premium is active. Manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play's subscription settings; uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to payments.

Advertising

The free version shows full-screen ads provided by Google AdMob. Premium removes ads. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google collects information from your phone, such as its advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads. Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form before ads are requested. You can change that choice at any time with Ad privacy choices in the app's Settings, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. AdMob does not receive the text you type or dictate, your TV commands, your bug reports or your pairing information. Google's use of this information is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Bug reports and diagnostics

A bug report is sent only when you press Send Report. Your written message, submission time and, when enabled, diagnostics are transmitted over HTTPS to our Cloudflare-hosted service and stored in Cloudflare R2 so SNOR LTD can investigate and resolve problems. A report ID is generated to help locate your submission. Cloudflare processes the request and its network metadata, including your public IP address, to deliver and protect the service. Turning diagnostics off excludes the diagnostics attachment, but not the message, submission time or network information needed to deliver it.

You may preview diagnostics or switch Include diagnostics off. An attachment can contain app and software versions, phone and TV models, the TV name, connection and pairing state, remote settings, recent commands and errors, and network addresses and configuration. Diagnostics are designed to exclude pairing codes, cryptographic keys, Wi-Fi names, and the text you type or dictate to the TV. Your own message is sent as written; do not put sensitive information in it.

Share diagnostics is separate: it opens Android's sharing options so you choose the app or recipient. That service handles the shared information under its own privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Paired-TV details and preferences remain on your phone until you remove them using the app or Android's storage controls, or uninstall the app. Forgetting a TV removes its saved pairing from the phone; clearing app storage removes all local app data. Recent diagnostic events are held in bounded memory buffers: older entries are replaced and the buffers are lost when the app process ends. Artwork is cached and may be replaced or cleared by the app or Android; cache freshness is not a guaranteed deletion deadline. For each report you send, the phone also keeps a note with the report ID, the date and time, and the first line of your message. That note does not include diagnostics. These actions do not delete reports already sent to support.

Submitted reports can remain in Cloudflare R2 until manually deleted. The reporting service in this version does not implement automatic report expiry or a fixed deletion deadline. Reports are used for support and troubleshooting, not advertising. You can delete a report you sent from this phone in the app's Privacy policy screen: tap the bin next to the report, and it is removed from our storage. Reports whose note is no longer on your phone, for example after uninstalling the app, cannot be deleted that way. Contact support@snorltd.com to request deletion of a submitted report and its attached diagnostics. Include the report ID and approximate submission date when available. If you no longer have the ID, provide the approximate date and a short description so we can try to locate the report; do not send passwords or pairing credentials. Deletion is handled by support, not by uninstalling the app.

If you email support, your email address, message and any attachments are processed in our Google Workspace mailbox to handle your inquiry or deletion request. Support correspondence may remain in our mailbox until deleted; you can also request deletion of related correspondence. Our email provider's retention and deletion processes also apply. Third-party speech and sharing services control retention of information processed under their own policies; deleting an R2 report does not delete those services' records.

Other services and your choices

This version does not include analytics SDKs. Optional diagnostic reports are still used to understand and fix app problems. Google (for Google Play purchases and, in the free version, AdMob ads), your speech provider, Cloudflare, our email provider and any app selected for sharing may process information necessary to provide their services. Processing may take place outside your country. Remote pairing credentials are not sent to our reporting service.

You can decline local-network, microphone or notification permissions in Android settings. Local-network access is needed for TV control; microphone and notification permissions support optional dictation and background controls.
